Alyssa Chesteen has a Bachelor of Science and Masters of Science degrees in Exceptional Student Education from Florida State University (Tallahassee, Florida). Alyssa holds Florida Teacher’s Certification in Elementary Education (K-6), Exceptional Student Education (K-12), and Endorsements in Autism Spectrum Disorder, English as a Second Language, and Reading.
Her teaching career spans 13 years and includes experience in special education in Kindergarten to 5 and 9-12 grades in public and private schools. As a special education teacher, Alyssa has worked with students with varying exceptionalities in self-contained classrooms, direct instruction groups, and provided support facilitation in the general classroom. Alyssa has 13 years of experience creating individualized goals and plans to help students achieve them.
Alyssa enjoys teaching her students to be advocates for themselves, helping them to identify what they need to be successful. She provides students with structured lessons, hands-on activities, and the necessary resources to be successful learners.
