Allison K. Kitchen, B.S.

Elementary Education
Remediation Specialist

My name is Allison Kitchen, and I am a proud alumnus of the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. Go Knights! I have been in the teaching profession for over a decade and have been an educator at Altamonte Elementary, Casselberry Elementary, and Primrose of Oviedo serving as a first-grade and Kindergarten teacher. During previous school years, I have had the opportunity to serve as the kindergarten team lead as well as the School Advisory Council (SAC) Chair. I have also provided many students with extracurricular tutoring opportunities.

My inspiration for teaching began with my desire to help make an impact in the lives of the children I teach. Education is known to be a very challenging profession, but I find a certain gratitude for doing my best to make a difference each day. It is important for me to make that emotional connection with each of my students and to go that extra mile to ensure that I provide them with the learning tools they need to strive at the next level in their young lives. I also find it important to build a learning environment where all students feel comfortable and confident in their academic learning. I try to instill in my students that it is better to try their best, than not try at all.

I have been fortunate to have the opportunity to collaborate with so many great teachers over the years that have helped shape me as an educator. The educational environment is ever-changing, and I find it important to continue to learn new techniques and broaden my teaching knowledge.
